We are PREGNANT!
How grown up are we??? I took three pregnancy tests, have been to the doctor, and have told friends/family/co-workers and we STILL can't believe it. My dad even announced it to all of Liberty Hill General Baptist Church and we still can't wrap our tired brains around it. I am due around the first week of June which means that I am the only teacher in the history of education to not work it out to get maternity leave during the school year (don't worry I am negotiating) but I know that is a great time of the year.
Well here is how I realized I was pregnant .....so I shot out of bed at 5 am SICK thinking mom's pork chops made me sick or I could be pregnant so I then quickly took a pregnancy test. After I took the test I woke Greg up and told him the news! When I first woke up sleeping beauty let's just say he wasn't real excited to see the light on at 5am on a Saturday. But after I told him the news we were both on cloud nine and never went back to sleep! Never did I imagine how that would work out.....I have been planning how I would tell Greg about the day we became pregnant and it never involved 5 am and morning sickness. I dreamed I would buy a neat razorback baby gift and wrap it for Greg and have it sitting on the table along with a steak dinner (because that is what a pregnant woman would want and this is my dream). Then we would sit around and talk over dinner about the future child and how he would be the quarterback for the razorbacks or she would be Miss Arkansas or Missouri. Again, my dream BUT I am quickly learning that is not reality. Since we broke the news to Jill and mom (Jill just happened to be home) the whole county seems to know. Word gets around quickly when someone is pregnant in our area. Okay back to the story. We then decided the baby needed donuts and I needed to take another test. Well three tests later, family announcement at my aunts birthday and NO ONE believed us, and half a dozen donuts it is official! Side bar...a great idea for telling people you are pregnant: we decided Greg would take a family photo at my aunt's bday party and on the count of 3 he would say "Katy's pregnant" and then he would get everyones reaction with a picture (a memory to cherish forever) but no one believed him, Ryan (Emily's boyfriend) said "in Arkansas we say cheese" and Lee said "Emily's pregnant too" (totally not true) so this went totally south and didn't work and no photo too show since it didn't work and would make our family look uncool.
After telling everyone the news Jill informed me of all the crazy things that would happen to me....currently I have experienced 1 day of morning sickness, lost my ability to spell, I have lost my debit card, burnt the bacon (twice) and I am a decent cook, can't remember the name of any of my students, constantly changing my mind about what I want to eat, have extreme hot flashes (this is a shout out to my mom), bawled at last weeks episode of ER....Dr. Pratt passed away and Greg held me until I got it all out, did I mention HOT flashes, oh and I get REALLY embarrassed...something I've never had issues with. EXAMPLE: I just went to the pharmacy to pick up a prescription and realized I didn't have my debit (because it is MIA) or checkbook. That second I felt my face, neck, ears, toes, etc. go scarlet and hot. I thought I was going to pass out because I couldn't afford to pay for my $10 meds. I thought I was going to have to sit down and put my head between my knees to breath. I knew it didn't matter because I know those people and they know where I live. My family has been buying their meds there since my Flinstone Vitamin days. Wow....the things that are happening!
Keep looking for posts on Lil' T. Oh and "Lil' T" is the rap star name that is currently chosen for our child. I voted against Michael Jordan Tarbutton or Mercedes Benz Tarbutton (sorry Greg) and felt Lil' T would be ok until the offical name is chosen which Greg will obviously have no say!

YAYYYY!!!!!! WE ARE SOOOOO EXCITED!! We can finally leave you guys alone about babies! I can just feel the excitement in your post! Enjoy everything....it all goes by way too fast! YAYYY!!!! WHOOOO HOOOOOO!!!!
I'm soo excited to be another uncle...and now that you can get anything you want, I think you should make tarbutton drive you to LR to play with me...I was laughing out loud in the office about the 1, 2, Katy's Preggers gag... oh, and I love that pic of you and tarbutton dressed as spiderman and wonder woman. talk to ya later...gator
