2 months

Okay so I've been blogging about John Parker's "weekly birthdays" on Wednesdays. So my mom informs me that he was born on a Tuesday. Oops. So about 2 months ago I mentioned I would be that mom that couldn't remember her child's birthday and it's official that I am. So today John Parker is 8 weeks. Geez.

So what has John Parker been up to?
Napping with dad....

Finally enjoying the kick mat...

and back time in his crib.

Hugging Mr. Monkey when he feels blue.

Spending time with grandparents.
(This was taken at Gi's and Gma Kirby was holding you. This only made Caroline like her more.)

Again, hugging Mr. Monkey.

Sitting in the boppy and taking a break from screaming to smile at mommy!Again in the boppy, this time all business.
A little dancing action...

Happily hanging out with daddy. BIG smiles for him.

This could be my proudest moment as a parent....
See tucking the thumb between the index and middle finger is something that Jill and I have done since we were babies. Greg cannot stand that I do this...not sure why but he is annoyed by my habit. I do this when I sleep or just when I'm hanging out. I don't ever realize it until Greg points it out! Bazaar but something the Deardorff girls inherited from someone. Well now my son does it (along with Caroline). So funny. I am pretty sure this is sign of intelligence. John Parker was doing this in the doctor's office last Wednesday. I had to get a pic! You hold that thumb with pride baby...

This is my second proudest moment...a trip to McAlisters.
If you are my friend you know that I could eat a grilled chicken spud with no green onions and ranch dressing every single day of my life....I know and weigh 400 pounds. So Greg and I had to run some errands and decided to take John Parker with us. Well he LOVED McAlisters (tear in my eye) and stared at EVERYTHING on the wall. He was so content until we went to Lowes and Target. Oh well. 1 out of 3 isn't too bad! Let's just say the image I had in my head about running our errands didn't go like I planned. Greg sprinting out of Target with JP's head bobbing against his shoulder and me yelling across the store and over JP's screaming to just go to the car made us look like two idiots trying to raise a kid. Yeah, the crowd gathered around the registers weren't looking to impressed. Humbling experience. We'll try that one again some day.

Milestones...
You STILL sleep on your stomach and are flipping over and changing directions you lay in more frequently. You like kicking your crib mirror (karate style), you love looking out the window and at Nolan. You still hate socks, diaper changes, nail clippings (thanks Gi:) and your swing (we're working a little each day). You love going with us to Sunday School and did a great job last Sunday but not so much during church. You screamed LOUD as soon as the praise team stopped singing and I had to sprint out with the entire right side of the congregation laughing. We have to start sitting in the back. You are doing better with your car seat as long as the stroller or car doesn't stop! You are starting to slobber more which makes us think you are preparing to teeth. Yes, your cousin was teething at 3 months so we are facing reality that this could happen. You have a HORRIBLE diaper rash that won't go away. The doctor gave us meds but we're still working on it. You love your new formula and are offically off breastmilk. You are holding your head up like a 6 month old. You pass gas all the time and we have to pump your little legs against your stomach to help you get it all out! You are still very warm natured and love falling asleep on us and waking yourself up because you are sweaty. You are a very noisy sleeper and grunt and squeek throughout the night. You are sleeping 4-5 hours consistently awaking around 3 am to eat and SOMETIMES going back to sleep for 3 or more hours. You hardly sleep during the day. We walk around the house alot and you look at all the pictures on the wall, light fixtures, and LOVE the clock in the family room. We go for morning walks and if we don't your whole day seems to be off. You love your cow in your car seat and annoying music player that goes off every time the seat is moved. You are mesmorized by your Black and White book. Your favorite picture is the flower and you will stare forever at it! You also love the shape ferris wheel toy that once belonged to Caroline. She doesn't seem to notice that you now have ownership of her old toy but I think that is why you secretly like it. You smile and coo (or squeek actually) when your Pa Pa and Gi talk to you. You sleep good for your grandma Deardorff, and love your neighbors! You are a spoiled little guy with lots of fans. When I take you back during church (too young to go to the nursery in my book) I always have a trail of people wanting to take you from me! There are always visitors coming by to see you. If we are out on a walk and someone we know passes us they will pull over to see you!

We are loving being your parents! You are so much fun. You keep us on our toes and humble! You are so thankful that God gave us such a healthy and happy baby! We love you John Parker.
