Well the last two weeks have been hectic. Baby showers, childbirth classes, the closing out of school, staying healthy (yeah!), and getting ready for John Parker have kept us going. I am getting to the point where no matter how many things need to be "done" there is not enough time!
Let me explain....I am a natural nester. It's a special talent of mine. I like things organized and clean. The last two weeks people have been asking me if I am nesting. I apologize if you have asked me this question but under my breath I was probably saying inappropriate things about you. I don't need to be 9 months pregnant in order to clean my home since this is a natural talent. BUT apparently my nesting is more in the category of renovations. So I want everything in our home repainted, refinished, or repaired! Poor Greg. Because there is the rule of "no painting while pregnant" I am going nuts because I want everything in our 1940's bugalow repainted NOW. I normally like to take my time making those big changes in my home. But now that we are about to put a new person in this home...I want it all "new" for his arrival. I have visions of knocking walls out, painting all the trim, adding new crown molding, recarpeting, and changing lighting! Again, poor Greg. He is having to find ways to divert my renovations ideas in order to save money and save himself from lots of work. This could be the most extreme case of "nesting" I have ever heard of. Needless to say we have compromised and I am getting the bathroom painted. Granted I don't deliver JP before it gets done.
Speaking of delivering a baby. Week 38 (last week) I found out I am dialted. I spent my last week of school hoping that my water would not break into a room full of 4th graders. Let me just say...the LONGEST week of my life! Teaching and occasional contractions just don't mix. The contractions and dialation have not been enough to do anything but live life normally hoping nothing dramatic happens in a public setting. Each day my contractions have gotten stronger and since last night I have been having some rather large ones. Just ask Greg...he follows me around with a watch and sheet of paper documenting each and every contraction. They have been so sporatic that I think he is exhausted! I go to the doctor today so we will see what week 39 holds. Hopefully an epidural.
Okay so I was going to post some pics from my old and new cameras. Greg got me a Sony Nikon as a Mother's Day gift! Thanks Greg! I love you!!! The problem is I can't find any of the camera cord attachments and I am about to leave for the doctor. The realization just hit me that I need to run through the house to make sure everything is ready! The next time I come back here it could be with a BABY!!!!
We'll keep it updated...taking the all our technology to the hospital!
