Please pray for Greg and the rest of our church's mission team as they travel to Mexico today. Where they are going has been flagged as a dangerous place for Americans to travel so I am a little nervous to send Greg off. Thankfully they will only be in that town during the day building a church and then safely staying in another town at night. All nervousness aside, I am so proud of him! Each day this man becomes better and better. He steps up to the plate each time he is needed within our church, family, or his work. I thank God for such a wonderful man! Be safe Greg and I love you!!!
The following are pictures that we took last night. We thought the hat was appropriate....I needed some humor. Being pregnant and sending your husband off to a foreign environment does not mix.

I was intending to go and then Greg got me pregnant! I totally know that I look like poo in these pics. Keep in mind it's the end of the teaching week, I've been crying since Greg's leaving, and I have a head cold and have lost my ability to breath (hints the red nose).

We thought we would commemorate this occasion with a picture of baby bump. (24 weeks)
Yes, it has grown. Wow I need curtains on that window!

I asked Greg later that morning to give mom (who was staying in STL with Jill and Caroline) a call and ask them about something I could take to help me. I thought since they have both been pregnant and should know what to do in the event that you get the stomach bug while pregnant it would be easiest just to ask them. That just added fuel to this fire. Mom thought Greg's voice sounded shaky and perhaps he was withholding information and I was really dying at home. I'm pretty sure he was doing something else (watching the Arkansas game...while I was upstairs willing myself to live) while talking to her which made him sound distracted.
So in the mean time (is that really "mean" time??) Greg and I decided we should call the doctor and get some info to make this horrible experience STOP. She informed us if it didn't stop then to go into the hospital for an IV. Not a big deal to us....this is something I was threatened with the entire first 3 1/2 months of this pregnancy b/c of morning sickness. THANKFULLY I never had to do it.
So mom calls back later and I am sleeping...Greg tells her what the doctor said and I am pretty sure rephrasing most of the important info to quickly get through the call and back to the game. (Note to self...boys tend to leave out important information.) She hits Gi Gi panic mode. SO mother calls out the troops. We get a phone call from dad on the farm who has been informed through the family phone chain that I am on my way to the hospital. Side Bar: Now, not blaming anyone for that mix up BUT you know that game telephone where you sit in a circle and one person says a phrase and then you secretly pass it around the circle, then by the time it makes it around it is a totally different phrase when it got started??? That is what happened to us. We also heard a rumor that the pray chain at our church got started. THEN my mother called my aunt to drive over and check on me to confirm the grim news. When she showed up she then called my cousin (a nurse) who THANKFULLY showed up to save the day and informed everyone that it was the standard stomach virus and I would probably make it. THANK YOU EMILY! She is the medical marvel of our family. When she speaks everyone listens. My aunt placed her phone calls to STL and Greg called the rest of the family to inform them that I was indeed going to live.
Moral of the story: Greg is not allowed to tell anyone in my family anything that pertains to illness including paper cuts, standard colds, rashes, eye infections, sore throats, etc. until after this baby is born...especially relaying information during any Arkansas sporting events. If this happened a year ago my mother would have told me to suck it up, drink a coke, and eat a cracker so it'll settle your stomach and you can get back to life! I guess I better enjoy all the family love even if it's not about me anymore.:0)
