Swinging & Sleeping

So last Thursday John Parker decides he likes his swing...notice Mr. Monkey in JP's grip.

Just to make sure he still likes it we do it again that afternoon...

I came home from a jewelry party to this...then he (John Parker not Greg) slept through the night!!!! YEAH. He didn't like sleeping through the night on Friday but did sleep through the night for 8 hours Saturday night! It seems to be an every other night thing which is totally fine by us. I always thought once my baby slept through the night so would I but he grunts, squeaks, and kicks in his sleep and is VERY loud over the baby monitor so from 1 am on I am waking up every 30 minutes to the sounds of John Parker. But luckily I can go back to sleep until the next sound wakes me up.

Here are some pics of the nursery.
This is the view from the door. Notice the valance. Gma D made this from some curtain panels I got at Potterybarn for $10. Gma also made the window seat cushion and pillows. I really need to take up sewing. She always makes it look so easy! Yes, that is a rocker/recliner. I would recommend this to any new mom. It's so comfortable and easy to sleep in....tried the glider thing out but went with the recliner and happy I did.

View from closet/window seat. Notice the curtain panel (a $10 panel from PB) pulled back. Greg strategically placed the video monitor camera behind the panel so we can hide it when not in use. Also, the walls are more dark chocolate than whatever color is shown in this photo.

View from window. Changing table equipped with baby. Yes, John Parker is safe and is deeply staring at his Hogs canvas. This table was in our basement storing paint when we moved in and we cleaned it up and painted. I didn't want a "changing" table but something that I can use elsewhere (either somewhere in the house as a side table) or just do away with if it doesn't work after we're done using it in the basement. This table is perfect! Especially since it was free!!!

Okay so we are leaving tomorrow for the annual family vacation only this year is a little different. We are not going to the beach and Greg can't go because he is so busy with work. There is too much going on (Relay events are starting today, we have a new child, etc) with the family so mom graciously worked out a quick get away for our family to BRANSON! Yup look out country music here we come. Actually it will be nice. We are staying at a cabin on the lake and I know there will lots of good eating and shopping! Can't wait for a few days away from the "everyday" although we aren't excited to be away from Greg. Here is a shout out to last years vacation at Seaside. I can tell that everyone already misses the beach because mom has already started planning next years vacation at the beach! Looking back I never posted pictures from our wonderful vacation last year. Seaside is one of my most favorite places on earth!

One of my favorite places...honeymoon cottage #2! This is where Greg and I stayed on our honeymoon and it was WONDERFUL!!!

A dip in the pool.

Family shot...

Beautiful view from our top floor.
